Pale pink Jamdani cotton, blush softened almost to breath, carrying the tradition's original motifs across its body with green and black hiding inside them.
The grey and white border is the morning fog the rose stands in. From a distance, the saree is a quiet wash of colour; up close, the handwork surfaces like a garden as the mist lifts.
The Jamdani motifs continue into the pallu, keeping the visual language uninterrupted from body to close.
Woven motif by motif on a pit loom in Nadia, West Bengal. The blouse piece is plain cotton with grey and beige stripes.
