Rust orange silk linen, covered in multicoloured leaf motifs, with a self border keeping the field almost uninterrupted — an orchard in its October colour.
The pallu is where the composition changes. Needle Jamdani work brings in a green parrot motif, a quick emerald contrast against the warmth of rust orange.
Silk linen gives the saree its particular balance: linen keeps the drape light and a little crisp, while silk lends the orange a quiet depth and lustre.
Handwoven on a pit loom in Nabadwip, Nadia, West Bengal. A plain self-colour rust orange silk linen blouse piece completes it.
