Kesudo — the flame-of-the-forest bloom, Gujarat's own red.
Ajrakh is hand block printed on red Dola silk, with leaf motifs running across the body and indigo moving beneath them.
A gold zari border edged with indigo and white stripes gives the printed body a more formal frame.
At the pallu, the visual language changes again: gold zari carries circular white motifs, creating a brighter, more ceremonial finish.
The choice of Dola silk changes the character of the Ajrakh. The fabric gives the saree a fluid fall, allowing the block-printed surface to drape softly.

Ajrakh is a handmade block-printing tradition. Minor differences in block alignment, colour distribution and motif definition can naturally occur across the saree.
These variations are characteristic of hand block printing and are part of the individuality of the textile.

Ajrakh builds pattern through repeated resist printing, dyeing, washing and drying. Here, indigo leaf motifs move across red Dola silk, while gold zari edged in indigo and white frames the body before circular white motifs animate the gold-rich pallu.
