A maroon Kala Cotton Bhujodi saree, substantial and dry-textured, scattered with small Dumru motifs in yellow and green.
The body carries the deep warmth of maroon while the motifs introduce small, rhythmic points of colour across the cloth.
The border runs in wine, yellow and green stripes.
At the pallu, the palette shifts. Traditional Kutchi weaving brings together pink, cream and yellow, giving the end of the saree a softer, more intricate rhythm.
The material is as important as the pattern.
Kala Cotton is an indigenous, rain-fed cotton native to Kutch, and its natural texture gives the saree an earthy, tactile character.
Handwoven on a traditional pit loom in Bhujodi, Kutch, Gujarat, the geometric patterns are created through the counted extra-weft technique characteristic of Bhujodi weaving.
The supplied weaving time is approximately 8–10 days.
