Small damru motifs beat steadily across this black Kala Cotton — Kutch's own indigenous, rain-fed cotton, woven with its natural texture intact.
The body stays dark and measured, while wine, orange and green bands mark the border.
Then the pallu changes tempo completely: Kutchi weaving in pink, green, white, blue and yellow stripes, finished with tassels.
The blouse piece is soft cotton in black, carrying thin Kutchi woven stripes with wine, orange and green at the border.
Handwoven on a pit loom in Bhujodi, Kutch.

Kala Cotton carries a naturally textured character, while Bhujodi patterns are built into the cloth thread by thread through precise counting of warp and weft. Slight variations in weave, motif placement, texture and colour may occur and form part of the individual character of the handwoven piece.
